Grants to New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey nonprofit organizations in the New York Metropolitan area for projects that support girls and women. Applicants must contact program staff prior to applying. Funding is intended for cultural, educational, and social service organizations that promote academic, artistic, athletic, job skills, life skills, and leadership abilities of girls and women.

The Foundation makes three types of grants: 

  • Seed money for start-up organizations or start-up programs,
  • One-time grants to solve a problem or build capacity, or
  • Renewable ongoing support. 

Applications will be accepted from New York as far north as Kingston, New Jersey, as far south as Trenton, New Jersey, and Southern Connecticut.

Term of Contract:

In certain situations, multi-year grants will be considered to follow a cohort of participants through a multi-year program.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The Patrina Foundation is presently concentrating its funding in the New York Metropolitan area and surrounding counties. Applications will be accepted from New York as far north as Kingston, New Jersey, as far south as Trenton, New Jersey, and Southern Connecticut.

Grants are made exclusively to tax-exempt organizations, with the exception of private foundations. Grantees are primarily educational, cultural, and social service organizations which promote academic, artistic, athletic, and/or life skills and leadership abilities of girls and women.

The Foundation does not fund individuals.

Pre-Application Information:

The next proposal deadline is November 25, 2019. Applications will be reviewed at the February/March 2020 board meeting.

Applicants must be registered on the website. Applicants must call or email Kara D'Angelo to discuss their grant applications and obtain a Registration Key. After registering or signing in applicants may upload PDF copies of the required documents.
