Grants to Connecticut nonprofit organizations for high-quality musical performances benefiting local residents in eligible regions. Funding is intended to bring cultural music to the community, such as symphony orchestras, smaller orchestras, choral societies, bands, and musicians, either vocal or instrumental. Preference is given to organizations that offer musical performance (instrumental or vocal) of exceptional merit. Projects should benefit the people of New Britain.

Term of Contract:

Grants from the Sloper Musical Fund are one year in duration.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Proposals will be considered from eligible, tax-exempt organizations in certain 501(c)(3) subsections as defined by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

Grant requests for capital projects will not be considered.

Pre-Application Information:

The deadline for application to the Andrew J. Sloper Musical Fund is June 1. Please submit online applications by 11:59 p.m. on the deadline date. If the deadline falls on a weekend or a federally recognized holiday, applications are due on the next business day by 11:59 p.m.

Applicants will be notified of grant decisions by letter within 2 to 3 months after the proposal deadline.

Applicants will not be awarded a grant for more than 3 consecutive years.
