Description:

Request a Grant Writer

Grants to Connecticut nonprofit organizations and agencies for programs to benefit local residents in eligible locations. Applicants must contact program staff prior to applying. Focus areas include, but are not limited to, community development, arts and culture, education, environment and animal welfare, health, human services, sports field maintenance, and youth development. Either the applicant or the program for which funding is requested must provide a service to the residents of Bristol, Burlington, Plainville, Plymouth, Southington, and/or Wolcott.

The Foundation is looking to support nonprofits and organizations as they work to sustain and improve the delivery of services in challenging times. Less emphasis will be placed on funding new programs unless it serves a documented unmet need.

Competitive grants are made to eligible community organizations for future, planned expenditures and not to cover operating deficits or previously incurred obligations. Preference is given to an organization if the program/project:

  • Responds to changing or emerging needs of the community;
  • Leverages or generates other funding or resources;
  • Promotes collaboration among nonprofit agencies without duplication of efforts; and/or
  • Enhances an existing program to encourage sustainability.

Grants for capital expenditures will be given consideration if the project is designed to directly benefit programs which meet the fund’s guidelines.
