Grants of $300, grants of $700, and grants of $1,000 to USA formal and informal educators for history lessons. Eligible lessons may be taught in person or online to students in elementary school, high school, or university. Applicants will submit recordings of their lessons about the Soviet Jewry Struggle for Freedom.

Educators can apply for a grant by teaching their students (in a class or online) at least one lesson about the Soviet Jewry Struggle for Freedom, using the many free lessons from The Refusenik Project website at https://www.refusenikproject.org/ or create their own.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Grants are $1,000, $700 or $300.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Part-time or full time educator, in an educational institute or school, from elementary school up to a university. Jewish Camps or Scouts programs are included.

Winning applicants must submit a USA invoice and will receive an IRS Form 1099 from Jewish Learningworks.

Pre-Application Information:

Submissions are now open until June 4th, 2020. Applications must be received before the deadline: 11PM EST June 4th, 2020

To apply: take a photo or video of the lesson (or of the zoom/skype screen with your students), write a short essay about it, and apply for a chance to win grants.

You can apply multiple times. Each lesson you teach/taught during 2019-2020 (different students or a different lesson) will be considered as one application. Increase your chance to win by submitting two applications!

You can apply in English, Hebrew or Russian.
