Funding is intended to help young farmers and youth startups develop sustainable food systems, address challenges faced by this target group, provide a support system for them, create job opportunities, and increase the appeal of jobs within the agri-food systems.

Funding is intended to support programs and projects in the following focus areas: education, access to healthcare, social determinants of health, and social services. Applicants must be between 18 and 30 years of age, and images must be the original work of the student. Applicants must be attending a World Photography Organization's selected University.

Grants of up to $1,000 to Connecticut nonprofit organizations for programs and activities that benefit residents in eligible locations. Funding is intended to support projects in the focus areas of education, housing, wellness, youth development, racial equity and inclusion, and financial stability. Eligible proposals benefit the residents of Middlesex County: Chester, Clinton, Cromwell, Deep River, Durham, East Haddam, East Hampton, Essex, Haddam, Killingworth, Middlefield, Middletown, Old Saybrook, Portland, and Westbrook.

Opportunity for a USA established filmmaker to participate in a residency program to produce work that fosters equity and diversity and promotes the narratives of underserved communities. In addition to a $20,000 grant, the resident will receive industry support throughout the year-long grant cycle.

The fellow will participate in research activities, supervise the care and education of patients, and follow patients at an accredited lupus clinic in Ontario.

Eligible proposal categories include cultural programs, seminars and symposia, research programs, and programs to develop future experts who will promote international understanding of Japan.

Eligible uses of funds include books, fees, equipment, and supplies. Funding is intended to assist second- and third-year students pursuing an undergraduate degree.

Fellowships to USA scientists with a medical degree to support on-site experience in clinical research and trials at a pharmaceutical company. Applicants must contact the funding source prior to applying. The purpose of this program is to provide fellows the opportunity to gain experience in drug research and development, clinical trial design, and data analysis related to oncology. Opportunities for publication and presentation of the research will also be provided.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International school administrators, mentor teachers, and foreign language exchange teachers for professional development and school projects. Funding is intended for projects that contribute to the enhancement of critical language programs in U.S. schools and further the teaching of English, Arabic, or Mandarin as a Foreign Language in the home countries of the international alumni. Funding is intended to cover transportation, lodging, and other costs for both domestic and international travel. Applicants can apply for travel which is planned for some time in the following year. The Foundation helps writers working with speculative literature, and the grant is awarded on the basis of interest and merit.

Funding is intended to support professional services, equipment, and machinery. Grants will be awarded to businesses for projects that will have a measurable impact on the business's growth and profitability. Eligible applicants are located in Southeastern CT.

Grants totaling $10,000 to USA local eventing chapters for adult education programs related to equestrian sports. The purpose of the program is to support amateur education in the field of eventing. The mission of the Foundation is to protect and preserve the sport of eventing for future generations and to provide support for the core educational, safety, and equine welfare programs of the USEA.

Funding is intended to provide relief from losses experienced by the team due to an instance of destruction or devastation, such as a wildfire or hurricane. The goal of the program is to introduce students to a wide range of manufacturing processes and encourage employment in the field. In addition to the monetary awards, the Foundation provides each camp with curriculum guides for campers and instructors, customized T-shirts with camp and sponsors’ logos, licenses for the student version of SolidWorks software, marketing support, and other class materials as needed.

Award of $500 to a USA, Canada, or International historian employed by a public agency to recognize outstanding historical research that directly informs public policy. Eligible topics include environmental history, the history of public works and infrastructure, institutional history, historic preservation, cultural resource management, and other analyses that address change over time.

Grants to Connecticut nonprofit organizations for projects that benefit underserved populations in eligible locations. Funding is intended for programs and activities in the focus areas of education, environment, health, human services, arts, and culture. Preference will be given to programming in the areas of healthcare and human services. Eligible proposals benefit the Kensington community.

Grants of up to $10,000 to USA nonprofit organizations for events and programs that promote and educate the public about the dairy industry. Funding is intended to support proposals in the following focus areas: building the skills of dairy producers, creating the next generation of professional dairy producers, and growing and maintaining public trust in the industry's people and products.

Funding is intended to support events, projects, and programs that strengthen and promote the agriculture, commercial fishing, and forest product industries in the Northeast region, including Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

Fellowships to USA physicians to participate in a full-time academic program to improve healthcare for disadvantaged populations. Priority will be given to proposals that reach underserved communities and rural areas, especially those that lack opportunities to present live jazz.

Grants of up to $25,000 to USA, Canada, and International nonprofit organizations and for-profits, and Canadian provinces and municipalities for commemorative projects that honor Canada's servicemen. Funding is intended to support building new memorials or restoring or expanding existing memorials that commemorate the achievements and sacrifices of those who served Canada since Confederation during war, military conflict, and peace.

Grants of $75,000 to New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut institutions to support breast cancer surgery fellowships for doctors. Funding is intended to improve outcomes and the quality of life for individuals with breast cancer. Eligible fellowship participants have successfully completed a general surgery residency at a US medical center.

Fellowships of $85,000 to USA, Canada, and International journalists for original projects and research in the area of digital progress in media. The Fellowship is intended to offer an experience at a prestigious university to learn and collaborate on activities that address digital transformation in journalism. The Nieman-Berkman Klein Fellowship in Journalism Innovation brings individuals to Harvard University to work on a specific course of research or a specific project relating to journalism innovation.

Grants of $2,000 and in-kind support to USA schools and youth organizations to participate in a rocketry competition. Funding and support are intended to assist schools in initiating a program to build, design, and launch model rockets. Grantees will also receive a package of materials about rocketry and mentorship. Applicants must receive an official team number before applying. The application for a team must come from a single Title I school or a single U.S. incorporated non-profit youth organization (excluding the National Association of Rocketry, Tripoli Rocketry Association, or any other rocket club or organization).

Grants of up to $20,000 to USA, Canada, and International scholars for public events and meetings related to anthropology. Funding is intended for workshops and conferences that will advance anthropological research. The purpose of this program is to help organizers make these conferences and workshops more inclusive and accessible by covering costs for scholars who might not otherwise be able to attend.

Grants of $20,000 to USA junior faculty in social sciences and humanities fields who are pursuing tenure. Funding is intended for scholars who, in addition to teaching and researching in IHEs, are working to promote inclusivity on campus for underrepresented scholars and students. Funding is intended to free the time of junior faculty who have passed their mid-point review so that they may pursue tenure effectively while continuing to engage in campus leadership and service.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International public and private high schools and occupational and tech centers to provide scholarships to high school students. The purpose of the program is to encourage students to pursue careers in manufacturing, enhance manufacturing training programs, and increase the availability of skilled workers in this field.

Award to a USA or Canada private or public entity, individual, or group to recognize outstanding efforts to preserve and promote traditional architecture. The purpose of the program is to honor an individual or entity who has made contributions to the protection, appreciation, and interpretation of vernacular architecture.

Grants of up to $5,000 to Connecticut nonprofit organizations for programs and projects that benefit residents in eligible locations. Funding is intended to help communities respond to local needs and to promote wide-ranging and inclusive civic engagement. Projects should allow all residents to benefit without discrimination based on race, religion, or any other protected class. Eligible activities benefit the Town of East Hartford.

Fellowships to USA postdoctoral and senior scientists for research projects related to science and technology. Prospective applicants must contact the proposed research adviser prior to submitting an application. The purpose of the program is to provide high-quality research opportunities to work with scientists and engineers in the Air Force.

Grants of $75,000 per year to USA, Canada, and Mexico MDs, PhDs, or the equivalent for research studies related to organ transplants. The purpose of the program is to promote research careers in the field of transplantation. Funding is intended for research solely geared towards solid organ transplantation. Applications are accepted in basic, clinical, and translational research. The proposed work is to be performed in a North American research setting.

Applicants must contact program staff before applying. Funding is intended for predictive impact modeling, environmental impact assessment (EIA), and engagement efforts with impacted stakeholders, including local communities and government agencies, that will support a proposed climate intervention field test.

Contract for services to a USA, Canada, or International artist or artist team for a public mural project. The commission will cover all costs from design until final installation. Eligible expenses include artist fees, insurance, fabrication, transportation, equipment, travel fees, and installation. The murals will be installed in the West Street Plaza along the Truckee River in Reno, Nevada.

In-kind support to USA, Canada, and International nonprofit organizations and start-ups that focus on women's health to improve brand recognition. Participants will receive assistance valued at $30,000 in the form of branding workshops, design instruction, and follow-up consultations.

Opportunity for USA, Canada, and International young individuals to participate in a challenge to create innovative educational programs. The opportunity is intended for participants between the ages of 15 and 26 to develop programs addressing themes that include the environment, community engagement, and planetary well-being. Participants will be mentored throughout the project.

Funding is intended for projects addressing the protection of historic railroad structures, equipment, artifacts, and information. Applications may be submitted for two separate grants via the same application. Only one award or grant will be made to any given project.

Grants of up to $20,000 to USA grassroots social change organizations, start-ups, and groups in multiple states to advance equity and peace. Applicants who have not been funded in the last three years must contact the office prior to applying. Funding is intended for organizations that address the root causes of injustice and can be used for both operational and project work. Grants support social justice organizing work happening in the New England region (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont).

Grants of up to $6,500 and fellowships to USA researchers with doctorate degrees for expenses related to non-commercial research in any area of knowledge. Grant funds are intended to support laboratory research expenses, fieldwork costs, travel to archives and libraries, and the purchase of research materials. Fellowships are available for research in the archives and libraries of London and for humanities and social science study in Edinburgh in the United Kingdom.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International art institutions and museums to introduce Japanese works of art to overseas audiences. Funding may be used for travel costs, packing and shipping costs, and catalog production costs associated with the international exhibitions. This program is designed to provide financial support for museums and art institutions overseas that organize exhibitions introducing Japanese art and culture to audiences overseas. In addition, this program is designed to support overseas international exhibitions such as biennials/triennials introducing Japanese artists and their works.

Fellowships to USA and Canada Jewish high school students to attend an educational program in Israel during the summer. In addition to the summer experience, selected fellows will participate in a year of transformative projects, studying, and seminars. Participants meet virtually every month during the school year and in-person for seminars in the winter and spring.

Grants to USA individual physicians for financial assistance to conduct cancer-related research. Funding is intended to speed up the process of turning research discoveries into better treatment and therapy for patients. Funding is also intended to increase the number of physicians trained in research methods.

Grants of up to $25,000 to Connecticut nonprofit organizations and local government agencies to benefit local residents in eligible communities. Funding is intended to support programs in the areas of arts, health and human services, community development, and youth and education.

Grants of $75,000 to USA, Canada, and International individual investigators for pilot projects in any area related to ovarian cancer research. Priority is given to proposals that are multidisciplinary, innovative, show potential for translational research, and that may lead to independently funded investigations.

Awards of $10,000 to USA young military dependents, ages 13 to 18, to recognize their accomplishments despite the challenges of military family life. Awardees will be honored for extracurricular activity, leadership, volunteering, scholarship, and other criteria. In addition to a cash prize, each awardee will also receive a laptop computer and other gifts and will be flown together with a parent or guardian to Washington, DC for the gala award presentation.

Grants of up to $2,500 to USA, Canada, and International nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and public schools and colleges for projects and programs that foster the growth of bluegrass music. Funding is intended for projects and programs in one of the following areas: cultural and artistic, educational, academic, literary, and historic preservation.

Grants of up to $75,000 to USA and Canada nonprofit organizations, institutions, and associations for projects to benefit and serve individuals affected by spinal cord diseases and injuries, including veterans. Funding is intended for projects that have the potential to provide broad-based educational opportunities. Potential replication of proposals and effective dissemination plans are key elements of funded projects.

Grants to Connecticut nonprofit conservation organizations, municipalities, and water companies for environmental preservation projects. Funding is intended for the acquisition of property that will remain undeveloped, and to assist water companies in acquiring land that will be classified as Class I or Class II water supply property. Awards are granted to projects that offer the highest conservation and recreational value and that leverage the greatest percentage of private and municipal funding.

Grants of up to $4,000 to USA, Canada, and International institutions of higher education to develop and offer courses related to the Holocaust. Funding is intended to support IHEs where Holocaust studies courses are not available or need additional support. Funding is intended to increase the number of courses related to the Holocaust available on college campuses.

Grants of up to $35,000 to USA small-to-medium-sized nonprofit theaters to support the production of experimental, bold, and ambitious new plays. Funding is intended to cover production expenses that are so critical to the play's production that without coverage of these expenses, the play would be difficult or impossible to produce. The goal is to support writers of these venturous plays by giving theaters the ability to say “yes” instead of “no” to writer-driven projects perceived as especially challenging.

Grant to a USA public or private institution of higher education to provide research training to eligible individuals. Applicants are advised that required registrations must be completed well in advance of the deadline. Funding is intended for programs related to disability and rehabilitation research designed to provide advanced training and experience to individuals with doctorates, or similar advanced degrees, who have clinical or other relevant experience, including individuals with disabilities and other individuals underrepresented in the scientific workforce.

Grant to a USA institution of higher education for research training programs to improve health and function outcomes for individuals with disabilities. Applicants are advised that required registrations may take several weeks to complete. Funding is intended to support projects that offer PhDs and other qualified individuals high-level experience and training to enhance their capacity to conduct high-quality multidisciplinary disability and rehabilitation research.

Grant to a USA private or public institution of higher education to provide research experience and training to rehabilitation researchers, including researchers with disabilities. Applicants are advised that required registrations may take several weeks to complete. Funding is intended for research to improve employment outcomes for people with disabilities.

Fellowships to USA, Canada, and International quantitative scientists at universities, hospitals, and research institutions to research biological systems. Fellows should hold one or more of the following degrees or the equivalent: MD, PhD, MD/PhD, DDS, DVM, and DO. The program is intended to encourage scientists, trained in fields such as mathematics, computer science, physics, engineering, and/or a related field, to pursue research careers in computational biology under the joint mentorship of leaders in both computational science (“dry lab”) and cancer biology (“wet lab”).

Fellowships of up to $50,000 to USA and Canada MDs and DOs affiliated with qualified institutions to expand their research training and experience in plastic surgery. First-time applicants are required to complete a writing module prior to applying. Funding is intended for applicants who already have active funding for the research project. The goal of the program is to foster the growth of research in plastic surgery.

Grants to Connecticut municipalities and nonprofit organizations in eligible locations for environmental education programs and community beautification projects. Funding is intended for projects and activities that create, improve, or restore a community garden or urban green space. Applicants must clearly show how the public will access and enjoy the project. Projects must take place within the territorial limits of a “Distressed Municipality,” a “Targeted Investment Community,” or an Environmental Justice Community.

Fellowships to USA, Canada, and International arts professionals for research projects related to Japanese visual arts. The fellowship includes airfare and a stipend. The goal of the program is to promote the study of Japanese art and its introduction to international audiences. Priority will be given to applicants who are likely to present the results of their research shortly after the completion of their fellowship.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International publishing companies to translate Japanese works of literature. Funding is intended to facilitate worldwide understanding of Japanese culture by making Japanese works more accessible. Eligible uses of funds include translation and publishing costs.

Grants to USA and Israel scientist teams associated with nonprofit organizations, including government research institutions, IHEs, and hospitals, for projects in mathematical sciences. The purpose of the program is to fund research projects that explore and develop the properties and applications of mathematical structures.

Grants to USA nonprofit organizations, faith-based organizations, and tribes to use data and technology to improve health services. Applicants are advised that required registrations may take up to several weeks to complete. Funding is intended to support networks of participating health centers to work together in order to leverage health information technology and data. Successful programs should improve provider and staff well-being, clinical quality, and patient-centered care.

Grants of $10,000 to USA and Puerto Rico restaurants for disaster relief. Funding may be used for operating expenses including utilities, rent, supplies and materials, food and beverage inventory, and supplier costs. Eligible restaurants are those experiencing hardships due to a state-, tribal-, or federally-declared natural disaster.

Grants of $10,000 and in-kind support to USA, Canada, and International post-secondary female students for career development in the areas of photonics or optics. Funding is intended to help charter schools at the early stage of development or leaders interested in launching a new school by providing resources, funding, and support. Grants are to be used for operational (non-facility) costs.

Grants to USA, Puerto Rico, and territories nonprofit organizations for initiatives to support the health of Latine communities. Funding is intended to address the HIV epidemic. Eligible activities include advocacy, stigma reduction, care and prevention services, movement-building, and leadership development. Special consideration will be given to organizations headquartered, founded, and anchored in Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Texas, and Puerto Rico.

Grants to USA and territories middle and high school teachers to support student scientific research. Funding is intended for the purchase of equipment necessary for independent student research projects on STEM topics. Priority will be given to schools serving low-income communities and/or demographics underrepresented in STEM fields.

Grants of up to $5,000 and grants of up to $10,000 to Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Rhode Island nonprofits, government agencies, tribes, and schools to engage artists for public performances. Applicants must complete the required registrations prior to applying. Funding is intended to support readings, screenings, and performances of work by regional, national, and international artists presented by New England-based organizations. Organizations serving rural communities and/or deeply engaging Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities are encouraged to apply.

Grants to USA institutions of higher education for projects to increase the diversity of online resources. Funding is intended for projects that address the histories and interests of BIPOC and other marginalized communities. The goal of the program is to promote and provide resources for projects that diversify the digital domain, advance justice and equity in digital scholarly practice, and/or contribute to public understanding of racial and social justice issues. Projects should be past the prototyping or proof-of-concept phase.

Grants of up to $25,000 to USA investigators associated with IHEs for new projects to improve the availability of digital resources to humanities scholars. The purpose of funding is to promote racial and social justice in the field of academia. Priority is given to projects related to the interests and histories of historically marginalized communities. Projects must be within the start-up or prototyping phase of development.

Grants to USA nonprofit organizations partnering with workforce development boards, employer partners, and state and local education agencies for workforce readiness programs geared to youth living in rural areas. The purpose of this program is to increase alignment between the workforce development system, schools, and OST programs and leverage the roles, responsibilities, resources, and expertise of these three entities in order to expand work-based learning opportunities, job training, and career pathways for youth living in rural areas. Grants to USA nonprofit organizations and institutions of higher education to provide professional development to personnel working with children with disabilities. Applicants are advised that required registrations may take several weeks to complete. The purpose of the program is to better serve children with disabilities who have high-intensity needs.

Awards to USA and Puerto Rico young engineers and scientists with faculty status at qualifying institutions to recognize their past accomplishments and career potential. Nominations are invited on behalf of promising researchers in the following three categories: Life Sciences, Physical Sciences and Engineering, and Chemical Sciences.

Grants to USA nonprofit organizations, government agencies, tribal governments, and IHEs for the translation and preparation of humanities texts. Applicants are advised that required registrations may take several weeks to complete. Applications are encouraged for long-term and short-term editorial projects, as well as projects that are at a planning stage. The program supports continuous full-time or part-time activities. Projects must be undertaken by at least two scholars working collaboratively.
